Medmatics, developers of CoagTrak Anticoagulation Management Software (AMS), announced today the launch of its newest software product, Reference Lab Interface (RLI).

NEW WINDSOR, N.Y., April 7, 2006/PRNewswire/ - This technology breakthrough will enable patient reference lab results to be directly posted in real-time into SRS Freedom Chart ManagerT, producing an HTML form in the patient's chart/tab, while automatically messaging the ordering physician. No more waiting for lab results, tracking down patient results as they call, or daily scanning of paper. With the MedMatics Lab Interface (RLI), the office process surrounding lab results are streamlined, with all results being sent directly to the physician's inbox, while a "content-sensitive" message is sent to the ordering physician's inbox (e.g. Abnormal, Normal and Preliminary). Physicians can review and sign-off digitally, as well as route the message for follow-up processing dependent upon office workflow. In addition, physicians can graphically trend critical result values over time to ensure treatment and medications are having their desired effect. This new technology interfaces with reference laboratories transmitting HL7 data to the practice via a secure network connection. RLI supports all versions of HL7 and all labs able to send results data in this format. This includes all major labs as well as practices using internal lab equipment (e.g. Antek/LabDaq).

MedMatics RLI process continually polls for lab results and automatically processes the data to both the patient's chart/tab as well as messaging the physician or designated staff member. This data is then stored in a discrete database, allowing for follow-up graphical trend analysis, allowing the physician to review results over time (e.g. HDL Ratio for a series of results/dates) to determine if the course of treatment is having its desired effect.
